Course form can be absolutely crucial when looking for a winner. If you know your way around a place, you are going to have an advantage over somebody who has never been there before. The same applies to horses – knowing your way around a venue is always a big advantage. Adrian Wall has picked out three former course winners running on ITV on Saturday.
We landed a tasty 67/1 treble at Ascot several weeks ago and this week’s treble returns great odds at the time of posting. Best of luck if you have a play.
More Thunder won a Nottingham novice over 1m2f around this time last year but oddly has come way back in trip and certainly didn’t lack any speed when winning on debut for this yard over course and distance last month. The four-year-old defied a mark of 87 comfortably on the day and a 5lb hike is unlikely to halt his progress.
Hand Of God bolted up in a 1m maiden here in October 2023 and won both of his starts last year, both handicaps at Sandown over 1m and Ascot when upped to 1m2f off a mark of 91. The son of Churchill loves a sound surface, has been gelded since last seen, and will take all the beating if he’s ready to roll on return.
Washington Heights won at this course on return in the Abernant last year and was then largely competing in Group 1 company, running with plenty of credit mostly at the top table. Finished second in the Group 3 Dukhan Sprint at Al Uqda over 6f in Qatar when last seen and should be primed for this.
