Located in County Kildare in Ireland, Punchestown is one of the countries premier National Hunt tracks. With a racing season from October through to June, it hosts 14 Grade 1 races throughout the year and attracts the best of the best jump horses both from Ireland and the UK. It also has the unique ‘Banks’ track for Cross Country races, the only one of it’s kind in Ireland. Course: It is a right-handed, undulating track where the hurdles circuit is a mile and six furlongs while the chase version is two miles. It’s a fair track so we don’t have to worry about whether our tips need to be ridden a particular way.
Feature Races: We have Punchestown tips for all the major races at Punchestown, including for the five-day festival in April, which is showered in quality. The Moscow Flyer Novice Hurdle in January is always a race to watch closely. The Morgiana Hurdle in November is a key trial for the Cheltenham Festival with Hurricane Fly, Nichols Canyon and Faugheen on the role of honour. Lastly, the John Durkan in December has been used as a stepping stone by Don Cossack, Djakadam and Sizing John in the past.
The Punchestown festival is the grand finale to the Irish jumps season with top class horses, trainers and jockeys ascending on County Kildare.
