There’s a massive draw bias at Chester and a low draw is vital to a horse’s chances. It’s particularly prevalent in races over shorter trips and the high numbers have no chance. With this in mind, we’ve picked out three horses running at Chester on Wednesday with advantageous draws that could be worth keeping an eye on. Ali Shuffle has made the perfect start to her career, winning both starts to date. She got off the mark with a comfortable success at Redcar last month and the third has boosted the form by winning since. Going in again under a penalty at Beverley next time, she was always holding off the runner-up. A fast break from stall one could make her very hard to beat and another big run could be on the cards.
Redorange started quickly when finishing third in a better race than this at Sandown on seasonal debut and similar tactics could pay off here. A 1lb rise is unlikely to hinder his chances too badly and he’s entitled to improve for the run. Clive Cox’s lightly raced three-year-old has an excellent draw in stall two and is expected to be bang in the mix.
Diligently won a valuable sales race at York when last seen in August and a mark of 86 should be fairly reasonable with that in mind. He took a while to get the hang of things last term but now the penny has dropped, there could be more to come at three. Stall one can be a big help provided he breaks quickly and the son of Harry Angel should be capable of winning more races.
